Dashwood Books is a small, well-love staple of the photography community in New York City. It is the only independently operated bookstore dedicated solely to selling photographic art books. It is loved for the high quality products it delivers to the NYC public and the friendliness with which it does its job. Customers cherish the personalized help and kindness they are shown by the staff. It fosters a feeling of freedom and mindfulness when in the store that customers are eager to return to.
While rebranding Dashwood Books, I wanted to develop a system that spoke to the brand’s confidence, cleanliness, and intentionality. The bolded lowercase logotype communicates the bookstore’s firm reputation as a mainstay of the NYC photography community and the container grid system allows for an endless number of ways to display relevant content in an engaging way.
